Establishment & Management

Founded on February 5, 2007, by the Diocese of Bettiah, realizing the vision of Rt. Rev. Dr. Victor Henry Thakur to broaden educational access in Chapra 

Managed by the JMJ Sisters, who responded to the bishop’s invitation in November 2006 to spearhead education in the region

Operates as a private, unaided, minority, English-medium, co-educational school under the Bettiah Diocesan Society

School’s Ethos & Vision

Initially began with just 13 students in nursery, prep, and Class I, taught by four JMJ sisters and Rev. Fr. Henry Fernando. By July, enrollment rose to 46 as classes shifted to proper classrooms .

The school promotes a holistic approach to learning—valuing emotional development and real-life experiences alongside academic instruction. As stated:

“Education includes all influences like climatic, cultural, domestic, economic, geographical, political, religious and social.”

This philosophy reflects in its motto, “Love, Joy, and Service,” which guides character formation and preparation for life’s challenges

Offers education from pre-primary up to secondary level (Class X); some sources suggest extension up to Class XII is possible but not confirmed

Approx. 479 students across levels: 39 in pre-primary, 201 in Classes I–V, 148 in VI–VIII, and 91 in IX–XII 

Staff strength: 19 regular teachers (7 male, 12 female); student–teacher ratio ~25:1, student–classroom ratio ~21:1 

Teachers include undergraduates, graduates, and postgraduates—many trained in computer usage
