JanNayak Karpoori Thakur Medical College & Hospital, Madhepura are the government medical Hospital with world class facilities. A Hospitals has its own Emergency ward along with 500 bed with latest equipment’s in O.T, experienced doctor’s & Nursing staff. Hospitals main building is divided into 05 blocks. There is an 23 departments with actively serving the patients. we have advanced lab testing , CT Scan-ray Room, ECG ,EEG, Operation Theater, OPD Section, Ambulance facility, etc. There is an Outdoor Patients wards in the 3 rd blocks with registration counter. Hospital’s having its own Oxygen generation plants, Private electrifications, security guard’s, Canteen, Jeevika counter for “may Help You” Counter.

Jannayak Karpoori Thakur Medical College and Hospital, located near Jajhat, Sabaila, Singheshwar Road NH-106 in Madhepura District of Bihar State, is a significant healthcare institution serving the medical needs of the region. Accessible via roadways and railways, with the nearest railway station being Dauram Madhepura, approximately 5 km away, and Darbhanga Airport, about 115 km away, this hospital caters to the healthcare requirements of the surrounding communities.

Spread over 25 acres of land, with 68 percent of its land being greenfield, Jannayak Karpoori Thakur Medical College and Hospital has undergone significant transformations. Formerly known as Government Medical College, Madhepura, it was renamed Jannayak Karpuri Thakur Medical College and Hospital, Madhepura, vide departmental resolution number-326(10) dated 01.06.2015. The foundation stone of this medical college was laid on 16.03.2008, with construction undertaken by L&T Construction.

This medical institution boasts a 500-bed hospital, with all beds equipped with oxygen facilities. It provides comprehensive critical care services including ICU, ICCU, NICU, PICU, and SICU. With modern facilities and advanced technology, it caters to the healthcare needs of Madhepura, Supaul, and Saharsa districts of the Koshi region, offering state-of-the-art health facilities free of cost.

The hospital’s services were inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Nitish Kumar, on 07.03.2020. Since then, it has enrolled three batches of MBBS students, with the first batch of 100 students enrolled in 2020. Apart from academic pursuits, students also have access to recreational facilities such as GYM, Indoor Stadium, Basket Ball, Badminton, Volleyball, Billiards, Football, and Caram Board.

The college houses various departments including Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, F.M.T. and P.A.S.M., along with specialized departments like Orthopedics, General Surgery, General Medicine, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Eye, Skin Disease, Psychiatry, Pediatrics, Dental Disease, Anesthesia, T.B. Chest Disease, Radiology, and P.A.M.R. Additionally, the medical college initiated blood bank services from 21.09.2022 and offers cancer screening, kidney dialysis, and C.T. Scan facilities.
