St. Karen’s Primary School, part of St. Karen’s Nursery School, honors St. Katherine of Siena, whose feast day is on April 29th. Founded in 1965 by Mr. D P Galstaun and Mrs. L.B. St. Karen’s Primary School, a unit of St. Karen’s Nursery School, honors St. Katherine of Siena, celebrating her feast day on April 29th as St. Karen’s Day. Founded in 1965 by Mr. D P Galstaun and Mrs. L.B. Galstaun, the school derives its name from Marie Lyons Killilea’s novel “KAREN,” a story of triumph and family support. The school, a minority Anglo-Indian Christian institution, is not affiliated with any recognized board but follows the CBSE study pattern. Upon promotion to Std. VI, students receive a T.C. for admission to other schools.

Sports Activities

TRANSPORT FACILITIES
Parents are asked to arrange transportation for their children after school. If students are left behind, they should inform the maid or darwan, who will take them to the administrative building. There, alternative arrangements may be made, a phone call attempted, or the child asked to wait for their parent. Students should never leave the premises without an escort.
SCHOOL RULES
Students are required to bring their school diary daily and maintain cleanliness and neatness. The school uniform must be worn on all working days, school functions, and Parent Teacher Meetings, with the P.T. Uniform for Stds I to V worn only on specified days. Non-compliance with uniform regulations may result in being sent home.
Except for stud earrings for girls, no jewelry, including watches, bracelets, rings, necklaces, or lockets, is allowed, and the school is not responsible for any losses. Personal hygiene is crucial; girls must avoid lice, keep nails unpainted and short, and style hair appropriately. Boys must keep their hair neatly trimmed, above the collar, and ears.
Chewing gum is banned. Sharp instruments, mobile phones, Walkmans, CDs, and objectionable books or magazines are prohibited. Drugs, narcotics, and certain medicines are not allowed. Exploding crackers or splashing colors during Diwali or Holi is strictly forbidden, with non-compliance potentially leading to expulsion.
